the house

Holiday accommodation to let: a fascinating and historic
old cottage converted into two luxury holiday letting units.
'Ereiniog'
is a holiday cottage of historic significance situated in the
extraordinarily beautiful and wild valley of Cwmystradllyn to the southwest of
Snowdon. The owners, Gwenda and Edward Griffith, farm the local area and have
spent much of the last three years totally renovating the cottage and restoring
it to its original splendour creating one of the most beautiful and interesting
buildings in the area. An abundance of original beams have been uncovered, some
dating
back
to the 16th century and deeply inscribed with rose motifs thought to have been
taken from ship wrecks in the nearby Porthmadog harbour, as well as huge
inglenook fireplaces throughout.
the accommodation
The holiday cottage has been sympathetically
split into two units but can be instantly returned to a single dwelling for
larger families if required. Each unit comprises of a large and luxuriously
equipped kitchen (including washing machine, dishwasher, large cooker, fridge,
etc), dining/living areas, two
bedrooms
(one double and one twin), superbly appointed bathroom with shower and central
heating. Outside there is ample parking and discrete areas in which to relax or
eat on those balmy summer evenings.
The
photographs above are of 'Ereiniog' including a corner of one of the kitchens
(yes, that is a brand new AGA!).
